Job Title: Project Manager for the Mental Health and Psychosocial Technical Unit
Duty Station: Gaza , Duration: 9 months
Supervisor: Delegate, Terre des hommes Foundation, oPt
Deadline: 3 September 2011

Mission (main responsibilities):
To manage and coordinate the Mental Health and Psychosocial Technical Support Unit in Gaza through the provision of technical support and coordination to mental health and psychosocial service providers, as well as to the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Working group in Gaza.

General:
- Monitor and evaluate program implementation, objectives achievement and results
- Network with main stakeholders in the Gaza Strip and Hebron Governorate, including
local authorities and UN clusters
- Manage the daily activities of the project
- Manage, coordinate and supervise the project national staff
- Budget management at project level

Technical:
- Develop and coordinate the data collection of the Child Protection Mapping in the Gaza
Strip and Hebron Governorate
- Support the Child Protection Network and introduce the Case Management IT Tool
(CMT) in Gaza and Hebron Governorate
- Identify and train the adequate professionals on the use of the CP Mapping and CMT
- Liaise and technically support the Gaza and West Bank Child Protection Working Groups
- Network with the various governmental actors, in particular the Ministry of Social Affairs
(MoSA).

Training:
- Develop training needs analysis, appropriate training materials and tools trainings
according to project documents and Tdh methodology and policy in order to disseminate
the CPM and CMT.

Necessary Competencies:
- Strong skills in interpersonal relations; networking and communication; and ability to
engage and form effective working relations with counterparts
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to win the confidence of stakeholders; including the government
- Ability to run meetings; organize workshops and provide training
- Good organizational skills
- Good negotiation skills; with qualities of persistence; mediation and neutrality
- Excellent writing and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills; including database systems management

Significant experience required in:
- The provision of child protection and/or mental health and psychosocial services in
humanitarian chronic emergencies; in particular with vulnerable groups such as children
and families
- Former experience in building a Child protection and/or MHPSS mapping
- Knowledge of child protection management and participatory action methodologies at
community level
- Planning; monitoring; evaluation and reporting skills
- Understanding and working experience with governmental structures in developing
countries – as well as a good knowledge of the community of UN agencies and INGOs
- Understanding of the Middle East political and economical situation; particularly the
Israel/Palestinian conflict
